About the Role

The Nurse Manager role provides coordination and guidance in relation to nursing management practises by enabling and supporting operational and strategic organisational/divisional goals; working in collaboration with other Grade 7's supporting the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Heart, Lung and Critical Care Division in overall efficient and effective management, benchmarking, maintaining standards and optimising patient/program outcomes.

The position will also manage and coordinate various project initiatives using up-to-date clinical knowledge and best practices whilst promoting continuous improvement of service delivery across the division.  This position will lead sustainable strategic change through management of divisional projects and clinical redesign initiatives, in a dynamic multidisciplinary healthcare environment to achieve outcomes that promote optimal patient care outcomes and efficiencies.

  • Apply critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical and non-clinical judgement in supporting the overall management of the service.
  • Plan and deliver strategies and/or processes that result in the effective and efficient management of data/resources/finances with regular evaluation to confirm validity and integrity.
  • Apply and adhere to organisational policies, including policies relating to human resources, work health and safety, and finance including the Business Planning Framework.
  • Participate in the ongoing professional development of self and others at a high level.
