The Opportunity:  

Role: AM OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR 

Location: PERTH, WA

Reporting directly to the  Depot Manager this role is responsible for the overall supervision of AM operations at the Perth depot. The successful applicant will control and ensure loading/unloading operational functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules while monitoring labour requirements.

Main Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure quality, express movement of freight delivery, no delays or losses, in accordance with Company policies and procedures;
• Maintain daily control over freight distribution, bookings, timelines, freight security, freight handling care, ‘special instructions’ and paperwork management;
• Maintain/manage vehicle allocations for freight distribution and scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance;
• Manage problem deliveries/rejections in a timely manner;
• Maintain team leadership – setting day-to-day order of tasks for your assigned team leaders, truck drivers, forklift drivers and dockhands;
• Provide weekly report analysis;
• Conduct corrective action(s) training with employees;
• Re-schedule jobs between team members and/or priority of tasks as required;
• Re-check freight exceptions for prompt delivery;
• Actively participate in the recruitment process including conducting interviews and inductions of new employees;
• Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures;
• Staff supervision and management;
• Coordinate the inbound/outbound operational movements;
• Maintain regular housekeeping;
• Carry out general duties including administration tasks as required;

In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within the transport and logistics industry (Essential)
• A broad understanding of transport laws, fatigue management and safety requirements
• A high level of literacy, numeracy and computer skills
• PDA/IT Literate
• Demonstrated solid experience in supervising and coordinating staff
• Demonstrated experience in leading process development and improvement
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal
• Exceptional Work Ethic
• Undertake medical including Drug & Alcohol testing
• Be highly organised with a keen eye for detail

This is a full time salaried position with remuneration dependent upon experience and qualifications.
