The Opportunity:
Role: AM OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Location: PERTH, WA
Reporting directly to the Depot Manager this role is responsible for the overall supervision of AM operations at the Perth depot. The successful applicant will control and ensure loading/unloading operational functions are completed safely, efficiently and according to time schedules while monitoring labour requirements.
Main Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure quality, express movement of freight delivery, no delays or losses, in accordance with Company policies and procedures;
- Maintain daily control over freight distribution, bookings, timelines, freight security, freight handling care, ‘special instructions’ and paperwork management;
- Maintain/manage vehicle allocations for freight distribution and scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance;
- Manage problem deliveries/rejections in a timely manner;
- Maintain team leadership – setting day-to-day order of tasks for your assigned team leaders, truck drivers, forklift drivers and dockhands;
- Provide weekly report analysis;
- Conduct corrective action(s) training with employees;
- Re-schedule jobs between team members and/or priority of tasks as required;
- Re-check freight exceptions for prompt delivery;
- Actively participate in the recruitment process including conducting interviews and inductions of new employees;
- Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures;
- Staff supervision and management;
- Coordinate the inbound/outbound operational movements;
- Maintain regular housekeeping;
- Carry out general duties including administration tasks as required;
In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following skills, attributes and qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within the transport and logistics industry (Essential)
- A broad understanding of transport laws, fatigue management and safety requirements
- A high level of literacy, numeracy and computer skills
- PDA/IT Literate
- Demonstrated solid experience in supervising and coordinating staff
- Demonstrated experience in leading process development and improvement
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Exceptional Work Ethic
- Undertake medical including Drug & Alcohol testing
- Be highly organised with a keen eye for detail
This is a full time salaried position with remuneration dependent upon experience and qualifications.
