Challenger Life Company (CLC) is Australia's largest and most innovative annuity provider. The Asset and Liability Management team (ALM) forms part of CLC's investments team, responsible for the hedging of CLC's interest rate, foreign currency, and index exposures and for the pricing and structuring of annuity and investment products.
We are seeking an Analyst to support ALM's daily activities, focusing on product pricing, modelling, and reporting. The role offers broad exposure to CLC's Asset and Liability Management activities with exposure to interest rate and foreign currency markets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a good understanding of financial products and markets. Given the quantitative and technical requirements of the role, the individual should be highly numerate with advanced analytical and modelling abilities. Ideally the candidate would have a good understanding of financial markets, including exposure to derivatives, and financial risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing of CLC's retail and wholesale products.
- Managing collateral requirements across CLC mandates and funds.
- Developing and supporting models for new transactions and products.
- Participating in solutioning, feasibility assessment, and prioritisation of new product initiatives with CLC's Product and Institutional Partnership teams.
- Engaging with retail and institutional distribution teams to support CLC's delivery to market.
What We're Looking For:
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets and investment products.
- Strong numeracy and modelling capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - adept at handling complex problems and making informed decisions.
- A tertiary qualification with a strong GPA in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience, with exposure to fixed income markets, derivatives, or financial risk management - preferred.
