The role:
Opportunities exist for an Analyst Level III to join our team in North Melbourne on a 6 month fixed term contract.
Analysts at Level III in Wet Chemistry conduct routine sampling preparation and food testing. They conduct a wide range of basic tests and a limited range of specialised tests and measurements using manual, semi-automated and fully automated techniques. If the test is automated, they may analyse data and report results.
Your day to day will include but is not limited to:
- Processing and interpreting data
- Defining and solving problems of limited complexity where the information available is less obvious, but not contradictory, and can be determined by direct reasoning
- Conducting routine sample preparation and a range of routine tests
- Organising work areas
- Conducting basic troubleshooting
- Using laboratory application software
- Applying the quality system and continuous improvement processes
What’s needed?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
- Understanding the principles of tests performed
- Diploma or Degree in Science or a related discipline
- Hands on experience in a laboratory environment
- Ability to prioritise work in order to meet daily deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstratable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a team
Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
