Will you be part of the energy solution?Job DescriptionThis role will be reporting to the Commercial Head of Finance, Overseeing risk assessment procedures for customers and establishing appropriate credit limits, as well as analyzing the overall credit exposure.Responsible for Recommending credit terms, negotiating and managing security measures to mitigate higher risk exposures, overseeing debt recovery portfolios, and managing provisions for accounts receivable bad debts.Responsibilities
  • Efficient and effective management of credit risk within the designated scope, overseeing portfolios encompassing Resources, Marine, Aviation, and Bitumen businesses.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of Credit Assessments conducted by Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) entities, undertaking advanced quantitative and qualitative risk assessments of customers.
  • Lead negotiations and management of security arrangements, ensuring the establishment and approval of appropriate credit limits in line with the Manual of Authorities (MOA).
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of overall credit exposure and re-evaluate the credit-worthiness of customers based on predetermined triggers and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to strike a balance and optimize portfolio risk, ensuring prudent utilization of risk mitigating collateral where necessary.
  • Foster collaboration with business units, providing insightful analysis to guide strategic decisions for growth opportunities, while also thinking laterally to offer innovative solutions.
  • Uphold adherence to all controls within the Assessment Group, proactively identifying areas of escalating risk at various levels including customer, sector, and industry.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on the credit policy, offering expert advice to the business units on the principles of sound credit management.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Businesses, customers, and the legal team during the negotiation of new tenders, contracts, and contract extensions to secure favorable contractual positions.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or related Finance/Business degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relevant credit or financial experience demonstrating strong financial analysis skills
  • Strong diplomatic negotiating skills with ability to make tough decisions and implement action steps to resolve credit issues while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities for team projects with ability to motivate team efforts and lead and influence outside organizational boundaries.
  • Strong aptitude for managing processes and driving towards best-in-class process performance.
