Position Description
As a Mid Animator at PlaySide Studios, you'll play a crucial role in crafting the visual narratives and gameplay dynamics of our current and upcoming games. Leveraging your artistic flair, technical prowess, and communication skills, you'll guide and support our animation team in creating captivating characters and immersive worlds.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
? Collaborate closely with the creative and design teams to develop the animation vision for each game, ensuring alignment with the overall artistic direction.
? Lead and mentor junior animators, providing them with guidance, feedback, and support to meet quality standards and project timelines.
? Create and oversee the implementation of character animations, focusing on realistic movements, expressions, and actions that enhance gameplay and storytelling.
? Develop animation concepts, storyboards, and animatics to effectively communicate ideas to the team and stakeholders.
? Work closely with the technical team to seamlessly integrate animations into the game engine while optimizing performance.
? Ensure a cohesive visual style across the game, collaborating with other departments on character, environment, and effect animations.
? Actively participate in meetings, reviews, and feedback sessions to maintain open communication and refine animations as necessary.
Specific Attributes, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
? Proven experience as an Animator in the games industry, showcasing diverse character animations and styles in portfolio.
? Familiarity with Maya Rigging
? Additional art skills like drawing, modeling, and texturing.
? Strong understanding of anatomy and biomechanics for humanoid and animal animations.
? Advanced knowledge of game engines and animation pipelines/tools.
? Leadership and project management abilities to motivate and inspire creative teams.
? Effective communication skills for conveying animation concepts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
? Quick decision-making ability and proactive problem-solving mindset.
