Our client is a large NSW Government Organisation who are seeking Researcher and Senior Researcher to join their team to join their team for a pilot program of work designed to manage anxiety and wellbeing for school aged children.
The activity is design-related research. Where facts need to be collected and communicated, the quality of experience is also critical to research and document, along with the pilot activities themselves. Outcomes regarding the impact of the pilots on students are not going to be definitive, or too early to assess in the time period, and this role and pilot is not geared to assess such.
The object is to learn the following from the pilot: Are the materials, and the pilot programs desirable, can we see positive gains and impacts with the approach, is it worth pursuing to scale?
Key Responsibilities:
- Senior / Lead researcher
Own the pilot research activities with the product manager and other researchers Guide and lead activities and planning to achieve the research outputs outlined above Map school programs and actors and relationships in detail Design research and research storage and markup In close collaborative relationship with the product manager

Assist with the pilot research activities as necessary Conduct activities and planning to achieve the research outputs outlined above Map school programs and actors and relationships in detail Assist with the design research and research storage and markup In close collaborative relationship with the product manager and senior researcher
Selection Criteria:
- Extensive experience in conducting design research, establishing and maintaining, or configuring and using design research data storage systems
- Experience in facilitating co-creative / participatory design research synthesis activities
- Experience in conducting structured research sense-making activities e.g. use of DKIW
- Design and production of visual sensemaking diagrams and artefacts
- Demonstrable understanding of differences between academic, scientific and design-led research
- Demonstrable variety of experience with common design research generative and evaluative methods
