Our client is seeking an experienced Communications Advisor on a temporary basis until the end of November 2024.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic communication services to the technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management. You will also develop and implement communication strategies and procedures to ensure effective communication outcomes.
In addition to this, your main accountabilities will be to:
- Provide communication advice and support to the Project Directors
- Providing expert accountability for crisis and reputation management strategies.
- Manage the preparation of communication materials, including all project collateral, research and writing media releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, web enquiries, flyers, display materials and speech notes
- Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for infrastructure projects in the region.
- Develop and implement communication strategies, activities, procedures and policies
- Provide training, advice and support to project staff and consultants to enhance communication skills and improve relationships with key stakeholders and the community in the delivery of projects and initiatives
To be considered for this exciting role, you will need to bring:
- A degree in communication, public relations, or marketing (desirable)
- Sound experience in strategic communications and / or community engagement
- Hold a Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card) or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of starting
- IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement and public participation (desirable)
- Current Class C driver’s licence with own vehicle
- Experience in major infrastructure project environments (desirable)
