Network Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support and maintain the existing IT and OT networks for Yarwun operations with opportunity to work closely with Global IS&T. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in operation networking by supporting and managing system configuration, carrying out system installations, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards as well as providing network support in a 24×7 environment.

Reporting to the Superintendent IS&T RTA Yarwun and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will be:

  • Providing technical support and management of Cisco WAN, LAN, WLAN
  • Designing and implementing new network solutions ensuring best practice security and practices are to a high standard
  • Maximising network performance by performing problem management, upgrades and collaborating with enterprise network engineers & architects on network optimisation and technologies
  • Maintaining network infrastructure to protect site from vulnerabilities and intrusions

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) & preferably Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certifications
  • Working towards attaining Cisco Certified Design Associate certification
  • Proven working experience with Cisco networking devices, in particular in routing, switching and firewalls
  • Experience with the use and configuration of SolarWinds
  • Experience with routing protocols in large organisational networks

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • A Tertiary Degree in Networking, Computer Engineering or related course
  • Experience with Cisco WCS, Cisco Prime, Cisco MSE and Cisco ISE
  • Advanced level of Cisco Certification that displays expertise for network design, implementation, operations and troubleshooting
  • Experience within large enterprise data communications networks
