About the role
The Application Engineer will be a part of Novigi’s experience teams to create high quality solutions within superannuation platforms. As an Application Engineer, you will need to apply superannuation experience and knowledge to the development and configuration of registry and supporting non-registry applications. Application Engineers are resourceful, innovative, and collaborative as they learn, design, develop and deliver changes to meet our clients’ needs.
The Application Engineer is responsible for:
- Creating and unit testing efficient solutions to meet functional requirements.
- Identifying, recommending, and developing code improvements for current registry systems.
- Supporting incident resolution and problem management when systems do not respond as expected by suggesting efficient and innovative solutions.
- Extending monitoring systems to enable support teams to be advised of risks as they occur.
- Supporting the expansion of systems by reviewing current behaviour, proposing new options and recommendations.
- Supporting improvement to code management practices by suggesting changes.
- Responding and resolving technical alerts for systems as required.
- Providing clear and timely feedback to customers as required.
- Ensuring stakeholders are aware of changes or any issues and their impact.
- Follow technical directions provided by Senior Engineers and collaborating with other Software Engineers to provide feedback, problem solve and code review.
- Maintaining process documentation and technical documentation in an accurate and timely manner to support change management processes.
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures governing solution development and related issues.
- Managing personal development environments to meet expected security standards.
- Highlighting risks to relevant team members .
Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in Superannuation preferably with ASFA 146 qualification (or associated Diploma of Superannuation) OR
- Software development or technical consulting experience.
- Tertiary qualifications are an advantage, but not mandatory.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of either Acurity, Capital, Composer or other registry platform – preferable.
- Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex problems.
- Ability to translate complex business logic into code.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to communicate complex issues simply.
- Ability to work successfully as part of a development team.
