Computershare Technology Services (CTS) is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join them on a permanent full-time basis. The Application Support team ensures efficiency and reliability of key systems, delivery of application functionalities and supports both infrastructure and software changes within the Oceania region.

A role you will love

The main objective of this role is to ensure excellence in the support provided to all stakeholders to meet their strategic agendas. Joining a close-knit team, this role reports to the Application Support Team Leader and supports a broad range of applications throughout our business. The position is required to liaise with various business units, direct clients and other technology teams including 3rd party vendors and provides exposure to complex environments and interfaces through issue diagnosis, application analysis, processing of requirements and some essential testing. Knowledge of the securities industry as well as an understanding of Digital Technologies will be an advantage in this role.

This position requires that you be flexible with working hours and able to cover shifts between our span of hours which are 7am to 6pm and you will also be part of a rotating 24x7 support roster to ensure continuous availability of services to customers. Potential for travel to our global offices may also be required to rollout and train new Software functionality.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Resolve customers' technical problems via email, phone, social media and in person
  • Liaise with business units, external clients, Vendors, and other technology teams to resolve application issues as well as provide input into product enhancements.
  • Manage and coordinate incident resolution activities. Own and implement preventative actions as part of root cause remediation
  • Manage and support infrastructure and product releases with effective and timely customer change notifications
  • Provide out of hours problem resolution services for our customers
  • Drive continuous improvement by documenting processes, analysing trends, and proactively addressing risk items before they become issues.
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
  • Ensure all relevant processes, checklists and standards are followed to maximise quality
What will you bring to the role?

This role is well suited to an individual with experience of Application Support and Business Analysis who enjoys working closely with Development teams. The role is within a fast pace IT department responsible for supporting applications across a wide range of business units within the financial sector. The role requires an individual who strives under pressure and can meet demanding SLA’s and deadlines.

Key skills required include:
  • Flexible approach to work, including hours
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Perform effectively when working under pressure
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong documentation skills and technical aptitude
  • Practical experience with log analysis and DB querying, SQL and/or Oracle
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise accordingly
  • Ability to negotiate and influence others, a team player
  • High degree of self-direction, initiative, and motivation
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms with people at various levels of the organisation
  • ITIL Certifications
  • Understanding of the Agile SDLC and project methodologies
  • Experience with Incident & Problem management methodologies and associated processes
Desired skills/experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or at least 3 years relevant experience in a technical support role
  • Ability to identify technical and application issues, and deliver resolution to identified issues
  • Previous experience working independently within a fast-paced environment
