We are looking to employ an Applied Ecologist / Integrated Pest Management Practitioner to join our small team. Someone who is fit, agile, willing to explore all parts of buildings and the grounds surrounding them, in search of termites, cockroaches, ants, rodents, etc. and the conditions under which they proliferate. The successful candidate will be able drive to their jobs around the Sydney metropolitan area, have excellent communication and customer service skills, including being highly proficient in the English language, record findings and actions on site and produce detailed reports including non-chemical recommendations.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience with urban Pest Management – we’ll train you up! We will provide you with a vehicle, equipment and training (if you don't already have Certificate III in Urban Pest Management).
This is a great opportunity to develop some hands-on experience with urban Integrated Pest Management practices. You’ll boost your knowledge of insect and other invertebrate, marsupial and other mammalian biology and behaviour, delve into the unexplored areas of Sydney, and learn that exclusion beats expulsion!
The successful candidate will display:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills,
- Ability to solve problems and complete tasks autonomously,
- Microsoft Office skills,
- Current manual driver’s license,
- Australian citizenship or residency,
- Currently studying or have qualified in tertiary level entomology, biological or other scientific fields.
