About PEER
PEER is a not-for-profit industry-based Group Training Organisation (GTO) and an award-winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited training packages to meet South Australia’s skill development needs.
As a GTO, PEER is the largest employer of apprentices within the building and construction industry. Our apprentices are trained, coached, mentored and supported to be their best – as trade professionals and as individuals.
About You
We are looking for our next team member who has a friendly, positive, can-do attitude who can multi-task and have high level communication skills. And be able to think on the run to respond quickly and professionally to new and changing situations.
We need a team player that cares about our Host Employers as well as our apprentices and Trainees and understand the importance of superior customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
About the Opportunity
Due to internal promotion, Apprentice & Trainee Coordinator is a role that requires a customer focused professional who displays high levels of initiative, critical thinking and strong relationship building skills. We are open to applications from a variety of backgrounds where service provision is a core component of your role. Construction or trade industry experience is desirable.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Apprentice & Trainee Supervisors to provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, support and guidance to apprentices and Trainees as they work through their probation period
  • General phone calls, email enquiries and face-to-face meetings with Host Employers, apprentices and Trainees
  • Working closely with host employers to ensure their apprentice needs are met.
  • Closely monitoring the progress, development and performance of each apprentice or trainee, making regular site visits and seeking feedback
  • Running reports from relevant systems and consolidating and interpreting the data
  • Accurate and timely note taking and database management
  • Some out of hours work required to attend events, networking and career expos
