As a 1st year Blast & Painter Apprentice you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the industry learning the skills of the trade.

Our Host Employer is a self-performing, solutions driven contractor, specialising in the protection and remediation of steel and concrete structures, and through the intelligent engineering of solutions, material selection & quality installation, they deliver the best solution to extend the life of the asset. DESIRED QUALITIES:
- Current driver's license & own vehicle
- Hold a current WHS white card
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Understanding of safety protocols and a strict discipline to follow & maintain these
- Ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in preparing surfaces for coating by using blasting equipment and other tools.
- Learn and apply proper techniques for surface cleaning, priming, and painting.
- Work closely with experienced painters to understand the selection and mixing of coatings.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols on construction sites
- Maintain and care for equipment, tools, and materials used in the blasting and painting processes.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines
Work for this role is Sydney and Newcastle based, depending on the project!
Working Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 3.06 pm, subject to change with projects.
As part of this Apprenticeship, you will be PAID to study a Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating through OFF the Job Training over a period of 36 months at TAFE NSW Glendale Campus.
