GEM Switchboards is a locally owned and operated electrical manufacturing company. The GEM team have been producing quality, low voltage switchboards for over 60 years for the commercial, industrial and telecommunication sectors.
We offer full turnkey solutions to our clients from design, manufacturing through to onsite commissioning. Our people are the key to our success with many of our staff working in the business for decades and progressing through from apprentices to either workshop leading hands or to project management / engineering roles.
About the role
GEM is currently seeking an Apprentice Electrical Fitter for our busy Workshop in West Gosford. You will be trained in all facets of the switchboard manufacturing process and start from the basics in your first year through to building your own switchboards towards the end of your time.
You will learn from some of the best in the industry and progress through to become a qualified Electrical Fitter which is a trade that is in huge demand.
You will be enrolled in the Certificate III In Electrical Fitting (National Course Code: UEE33011) and attend Wyong TAFE 1 day per week
Note this is an Electrical Fitter apprenticeship and is a different career path than an electrical mechanic (electrician) and is suited to detail oriented individuals with high levels of skills required.
You will work a 4 day week, Monday to Thursday with plenty of overtime available.
Required Skills
- Studying or completed an Electrotechnology certificate at TAFE will be advantageous
