Kingston Beach Golf Club (KBGC), home to the 2021 and 2022 Tasmanian Open, is looking for a new Apprentice Greenkeeper. Enjoy learning your trade at one of the best presented courses in the state, just 15 minutes south of the Hobart CBD.
The Apprentice Greenkeeper role assists with daily maintenance of the golf course and surrounding grounds, to provide the best experiences possible for our members and guests. The position reports to the Course Superintendent and works within a small team, supported by a fantastic crew of member volunteers.
Your typical week will include:
- operating a range of machinery involved in maintenance of greens, fairways, roughs, tee boxes and bunkers
- course setup for competition
- maintenance and repairs to course irrigation
- cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
While not essential, our ideal apprentice has an interest in golf, and:
- is highly self motivated with a strong work ethic
- enjoys working as part of a team
- is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors
- is enthusiastic about learning
- has good communication skills and attention to detail
- holds a current unrestricted drivers licence
- must be eligible to work in Australia.
The working week is full time, and includes early morning starts and weekend work predominately Saturday mornings. Remuneration is as per National Employment Standards, and includes complimentary membership.
The apprenticeship is up to a four year commitment and includes attending TAFE to study Sports Turf Management.
