AddressWaratah Golf Club is situated in Argenton, near the shores of Lake Macquarie, and is well patronised by over 1000 members as well as guests.
We are looking to appoint an experienced greenkeeper in the role of Assistant Superintendent (2IC) to join the maintenance team.
This is a key position, working directly alongside the Course Superintendent to help lead and mentor the team using your previous knowledge and experience.
You will be an enthusiastic individual who will be hands-on in the day-to-day management and future development and planning of the course.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Greenkeeper looking to take the next step in their career and/or a current 2IC or Superintendent looking for a new opportunity.
Duties &Responsibilities:
- Management of all turf surfaces
- Management of the irrigation system
- Safe Chemical handling, mixing and application
- Assist in the execution of the course component of the club’s strategic plan
- Prioritise safety and always ensure work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner
- In the absence of the Course Superintendent, temporarily assume the responsibilities of the Course Superintendent
- Some weekend work will be required
Applicant should have:
- Certificate III or higher in Sports Turf Management
- Golf course maintenance experience, particularly with bent greens
- Comprehensive knowledge in turf management and agronomy
- Strong leadership and communication qualities
- Excellent attention to detail
- A genuine passion for the golf industry
Applicants will be required to assist in course management, maintenance and preparation including some rostered weekend work and occasional overtime. A competitive salary package is negotiable depending on qualifications and level of experience.
