Job description

The Position 
Assist across multiple teams in the development and maintenance of parks, landscapes and gardens. 

  • Working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO
  • Study towards a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens or equivalent
  • Come and work for an engaging and dynamic team

Skills & Experience  
  • Basic knowledge in the use of horticultural tools and equipment
  • A general interest in parks and gardens and horticulture
  • Understanding of safe work practises
  • Fundamental literacy and numeracy skills
  • Minimum completion of Year 10
  • Provisional Licence or Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to maintain) 
 
Tasks & Responsibilities  
Assist in the;
  • Maintenance of the city's turf areas, parks, reserves and landscapes.
  • Construction of landscapes throughout the city.
  • Maintenance and planting of trees.
  • Maintenance, protection and restoration of natural areas.
  • Maintenance of drains and roadsides.
  • Management of fine turf areas.
  • Risk management works (programmed pruning).
  • Completion of landscaping projects including high profile areas.
  • Control of noxious and environmental weeds.

 
Hours 
Based on a 38 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. These times may vary due to operational requirements and will be determined by the supervisor.
