Western Truck Repairs is a renowned brand in the heavy vehicle smash repair industry and is a division under AMA Group - Heavy Motors. We offer a complete range of services, from minor mechanical and accident repairs, to complete hand-finished re-builds, we really can do the lot!

Western Truck Repairs have a great network with towing & salvaging operators, to ensure we can provide the upmost service to see each job right through from beginning to finish.

With a convenient location near Melbourne's Ring Road and Westgate Bridge, you'll be part of a team that serves the local trucking community with pride and professionalism. Our facility is a bustling hub of activity, with experienced Panel Beaters, mechanics, body builders, fabricators, spray painters, chassis aligners and electricians working together as a cohesive team. The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Panel Beater to join the team at Western Truck Repairs.

As an Apprentice Panel Beater, you will work under the guidance of experienced Panel Beaters to learn the skills and techniques required to produce high quality finishes on heavy vehicles.

Role responsibilities

As an Apprentice Panel Beater at Western Truck Repairs, you will learn:

  • Repairing and replacing damaged bodywork on trucks, buses and trailers, using welding and cutting techniques and specialised equipment
  • Disassembling vehicles
  • Labelling parts and storing accordingly
  • Checking new parts are correct and not damaged
  • Reassembling vehicle as per Job Sheet

You will be required to:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times
  • Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition
  • Complete all course theory work by the due date as required
