Our client is seeking to engage an APS3-5 Credit Card Support and Compliance.

Location: Multiple locations (Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane)

Contract Length: until 31st January 2025

Role Overview

Finance staff in the Agency provide administrative and finance services to support the provision of research and development activities. This involves developing and implementing and/or administering finance policies, systems, and procedures that assist the organisation and business units in achieving their objectives and meeting government and regulatory responsibilities.

Within the Treasury and Compliance team, the position is responsible for diverse activities supporting the Finance Coordinator – Treasury and Compliance, Finance Business Units, and the broader organisation. The role requires a vast skill set to deliver Credit Card cardholder support, data analysis, reporting and compliance, and Support treasury and banking transaction activities.


Duties and Key Result Areas: 

  • Provide assistance to staff and clients while maintaining accuracy and compliance with policy and procedures relevant to the immediate work area and responsibilities.
  • Look for opportunities to generate improved solutions in work situations, exercising initiative to create efficiencies with completing routine activities relating to Credit Card management.
  • Complete duties related to Credit Card management and FlexiPurchase support.
  • Providing advice and Support to staff.
  • Preparing reports related to Agency’s Credit Card program to obtain an understanding of trends and improvements.
  • Undertake Credit Card Compliance activities and reporting to enable the completion of random audits following established procedures.
  • Preparing and providing monthly Credit Card expenditure reports to BU’s
  • Implement corrective action where cardholder misuse is evident. 
  • Communicate openly, effectively, and respectfully with all staff and clients requesting your services, keeping clients informed of progress and redirecting requests to appropriate staff and teams when required.
  • Proven capability or relevant experience to demonstrate the ability to understand financial data in reports and identify anomalies and recommend potential courses of action.
  • Communicate openly, effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of Agency’s reputation.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, often regionally dispersed research team, and business unit to carry out tasks supporting Agency’s scientific objectives.
  • Adhere to the spirit and practice of Agency’s Code of Conduct, Health, Safety and Environment procedures and policy, Diversity initiatives and Making Safety Personal goals.
