The Role
The role includes extracting and manipulating data, creating routine reporting outputs, maintaining and improving existing queries and reports. This role would suit individuals who are enthusiastic, team focused and enjoy working with data. Data retrieval and interrogation tools including COGNOS and SQL, visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI may be used to support analysis
You will need to be able to become proficient in the intermediate features of Microsoft Excel, understanding formulas and producing graphs and pivot tables. Additionally you will be required to import Defence workforce data from the HR Data Warehouse using the Cognos Report Studio and Microsoft Excel and prepare responses to routine and ad hoc requests for information pertaining to the Defence workforce. Under guidance, you will extract workforce data that will be used to measure and report on workforce health.
You will be required to confidently engage with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to discuss workforce information and reports.
About our Team
The role of the Workforce Analytics team is to provide integrated strategic level workforce information, analysis, guidance and advice on the current and predicted future health of the ADF, APS and combined workforces.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have experience or training in Microsoft Excel. Experience writing Cognos or SQL queries. An understanding or ability to use Tableau or Power BI would be beneficial but is not essential. They will have a strong attention to detail and take pride in the quality of their work. They will be happy to alternate between working independently and with a team to achieve outcomes. A self-motivated individual that shows initiative and works to understand how their work aligns with the outcomes required from the team, is the person we are looking for.
