The Role
Located at RAAF Base Williamtown, Surveillance and Control System Program Office (S&CSPO) has an opportunity for a Security Advisor to join their team. Operating in an integrated environment comprising of Military, Australian Public Servants and major Service Providers, you are accountable for security management, under the direction of the Senior Unit Security Advisor. The Security Advisor will achieve quality outcomes and support the delivery of complex information and physical security work. You are required to have the ability to develop and maintain an understanding of compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
As a key member of the Security Team, under guidance you will be required to:
- Develop and maintain security policies, plans and procedures in line with the Australian Government Protective Security policy Framework (PSPF).
- Regulate, monitor and report on S&CSPO’s security, conduct security threat and risk assessments and promote security awareness across the organisation.
- Support in the management of security incidents and conduct, facilitate or assist in investigations.
- Support in administering security compliance across S&CSPO’s acquisition, sustainment and business teams.
- Develop your skills, working closer with our cyber and exports control areas. As a Security Advisor at S&CSPO, you will be working in one of Australia’s premier tourist destinations, the Hunter Valley. With idyllic surf beaches in Port Stephens and Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter wine region, hiking trails and Barrington Tops National Park, all within an hour of the base.
About our Team
The Security Advisor position is housed within the Program Systems Office (PSO) of the Surveillance and Control Systems Program Office (S&CSPO) located at RAAF Base Williamtown.
The PSO supports both major and minor acquisition projects, sustainment activities and their supporting systems. S&CSPO provides a working environment that offers challenging work, flexibility to be innovative, and the guidance and support that that you need to succeed.
