They are currently working on a luxury construction project for a brand new high rise building In Parramatta comprising of 425 apartments; resident lounges; a function space; gym; outdoor pool; landscaped sky terrace; ground floor retail; four levels of commercial space; and a four level basement car stacker system.
As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for the safety function of the project and for ensuring that all safety requirements are met or exceeded. You will provide expert advice and guidance on safety-related matters to employees, contractors, and stakeholders, and you will investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety management systems and governance frameworks for the project
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks
- Review and evaluate policies, procedures, and processes related to safety systems and governance and recommend improvements where necessary
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Provide expert advice and guidance on safety-related matters to employees, contractors, and stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to safety management
- Investigate incidents and accidents and identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures and coordinate emergency response activities where necessary
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices and recommend changes or improvements to safety systems and governance frameworks.
- Relevant degree and certification in safety management or a related field
- Experience in safety management, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
