Claims Officer (APS5) - Federal Government Oppertunity! 12-month assignmentLocation: Canberra or Melbourne
Security Clearance: Baseline level or ability to obtain oneAs a Claims Officer for this federal government agency, you will be part of a committed team responsible for managing medium to low-risk claims. Your role will invovlve engaging with claimants, employers, and medical providers to facilitate return-to-health and work outcomes.
The ideal candidate will work under limited direction and apply expertise to make informed decisions within the regulatory framework.Primary Responsibilities

• Claims Management: Implement claims management strategies and operating models aligned with corporate plans.
• Regulatory Compliance: Apply your understanding of statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks to solve problems and deliver effective claims management services.
• Team Contribution: Collaborate with your team to achieve claims management targets, including mentoring less experienced colleagues.
• Decision Making: Manage claims using sound judgment, expertise, and adherence to regulations and procedures.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and advise internal and external stakeholders, anticipating and responding to their needs.
• Complex Problem Solving: Tackle moderately complex to complex tasks and escalate issues as necessary to drive desired outcomes.
• Best Practices: Promote consistent claims management, positive outcomes, and better practices across Comcare and client agencies.
