Join a large government department with teams located across ACT, VIC and SA. Your role will manage key contracts which will contribute to streamlining innovation in systems and to drive capability pathways. 

Your new role 

You will have a sound understanding of the Australian Government’s resource management framework and contract management best practice and apply these to oversee management of the contract. You will have excellent oral and written communications skills and be able to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will have experience managing large and complex government contracts. You will have an extensive knowledge of best practice contract management and be able to apply this knowledge to the management of contracts within the Department. You will also be able to interpret and apply contract terms, interrogate, and present data, and assess contract finances to make recommendations to managers about approaches to manage issues under the contract.

What you'll need to succeed 

• Qualifications and/or relevant experience in procurement, contracting and contract administration within Government or Defence.
• Experience and competency using  corporate business systems (including MyProcurement, MyFI and Objective); 
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement, finance, security and contract management governance frameworks;
• Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal to communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; and
• Ability to prioritise own work load with minimal supervision to deliver agreed outcomes.
