Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Board Governance Officer on a contract for 12 months in their well-located offices in Geelong or Richmond.

About the Role:
Operating within a small and geographically dispersed team, the APS6 Governance Officer will work under the direction of a Director and Assistant Director to undertake a range of planning, coordination and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing logistic and secretariat support for meetings (possibly in consultation with other departments) including booking accessible venues, organising travel and accommodation, coordinating catering, planning dinners, and undertaking other minor procurement as required.
- Assisting coordination of papers by effectively engaging with a range of stakeholders, including undertaking quality assurance and upload of documents to approved administration system to set timeframes.
- Undertaking research and analysis to inform decisions on complex or escalated issues, longer-term planning and liaison with other sections on policy, and project or operational issues.
- Developing and supporting complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals, and anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Performing research and analysing information from a wide variety of sources to monitor emerging themes and issues across the intergovernmental forums and the states and territories.
- Developing, maintaining and monitoring the actions register for all intergovernmental forums, including tasking and following up actions where required.
- Maintaining accurate corporate records, including minutes, workplans, committee charters, registers of interest, decision registers and action registers.
- Maintaining accurate records of financial expenditure.
- Managing a shared mailbox; escalating complex enquiries or matters to the attention of the Assistant Director, Director and/or Branch Manager.
- Processing improvement activities, including assisting with the development and maintenance of governance policies, procedures and guidance documents.
- Other general administrative duties as directed.
