Within our client's Technology Services Division, they are responsible for the operation and delivery of high quality, trusted, reliable and secure national digital health infrastructure and health support systems within the Federal Government of Australia.
Your new role
The APS6 Contract Manager is responsible for handling complex tasks related to contract management. Working with limited direction, they have the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability. Their primary focus is on managing contracts related to the My Health Record and the My Health App. These contracts encompass various areas, including the National Infrastructure Operator, Cloud Services, Contact Centre, Software Licencing, and Health API Gateway.
What you'll need to succeed
Leadership and Accountability
- Provide expert knowledge of contract management across various programs or activities within the Agency.
- Offer specialised advice on government procurement and contract management, anticipating and addressing potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
- Develop and maintain contract management documentation, processes, and procedures (e.g., Contract Management Plans, Statements of Requirements, negotiation plans, extensions, etc.).
- Prioritise work, maintain team cohesion, and provide regular updates on key activities, risks, and performance.
- Supervise a team of Contract Officers, overseeing end-to-end contract management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing team capabilities and ensuring quality output.
- Assist in strategic planning, program development, and policy formulation.
- Allocate resources effectively and manage workflow.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the agency’s role and functions.
- Draft written advice on contract management issues, considering complexity and sensitivity.
- Stay aware of longer-term strategic, political, and operational outcomes for the Agency.
- Work independently, adhering to established priorities and methodologies.
- Produce high-quality work with minimal revision, utilising Microsoft Office applications and relevant systems.
- Provide strategic advice on complex contract questions, guided by regulations and best practices.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decisions and report significant events resulting from contractual activities.
- Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide updates, advice, and recommendations related to contract management.
- Represent the agency’s interests at various levels, resolving contractual matters.
