Talent International is currently recruiting for an APS6 level Graphic Designer to work for one of our Federal Government client's based Geelong. The position is a 12-month contract initially with the possibility of extension and is paying an hourly rate of $60.26 + Super.
Position purpose:
This role provides an opportunity for you to use your creative digital skills to contribute to one of Australia's biggest social reforms.
Providing high-quality creative digital services and advice you will enjoy working collaboratively to support the delivery communications and marketing objectives for the Agency.
You will be a self-starter as the role operates in a fast-paced and changing environment, where resilience and flexibility are essential.
The role is busy and diverse, and key duties include (but are not limited to):
- Designing a wide range of best-practice accessible hard copy print and digital communications collateral and elements, including strategies, guidance material, reports, brochures, booklets and icons. Across this work you are required to:
- Provide meticulous attention to detail
- Exhibit intuitive visual skills, including typographic hierarchy, layout design, balance, spatial relationships, and an understanding of design principles.
- Provide strategic and considered creative advice on communication activities and strategies.
- Contribute to the regular development, delivery and review of strategic communications content through established internal communication channels.
- Interpret complex information and simplifying in graphic form with the audience need in mind.
- Prepare high-quality, clear and accessible collateral that meets the needs of participants and other audiences and aligns with the NDIS brand.
- Understand and apply brand guidelines and identify ongoing improvements.
- Ability to take approved concepts and apply and adapt for multi-channel output.
- Fostering creativity and innovation in digital content creation across a range of channels.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications or extensive relevant experience in graphic design.
- Strong design portfolio with exposure to best-practice accessible print and digital communications products including but not limited to, long corporate documents, reports, brochure, booklets and promotional products.
- Extensive experience and high proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Interpret complex information and simplifying in graphic form with the audience need in mind.
- Lived experience of disability or an understanding and passion for achieving quality outcomes for people with disability.
- Solid understanding of accessibility requirements, including having worked within WCAG 2.0 guidelines and the ability to produce tagged PDFs.
