Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Leadership and Talent Program Manager – Strategy.

Location:
Canberra, ACT

Employment Status:
Ongoing (permanent) and non-ongoing (temporary) opportunities available

The Leadership and Talent Program Manager will:

  • Support the design and implementation of agency wide leadership development programs and maintain relevant intranet content to support promotion of these programs.
  • Design and develop an Agency Capability Curriculum in consultation with agency business groups and other key stakeholders that reflects the specialised, technical nature of the work our workforce does, as well as the non-technical capabilities, which are common across all groups.
  • Deploy a contemporary learning evaluation framework to ensure Academy learning offerings effectively meet Agency workforce capability needs and learning quality standards.
  • Develop and implement capability development policies, frameworks and tools that are well suited to the Agency and align to APS learning strategies, frameworks, and standards.
  • Support the design and development of broader learning initiatives to support a culture of continuous learning across the agency.
  • Support the preparation of publications, promotional communications, reports, papers, and briefing materials.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing advice on leadership development, capability, or learning matters with a particular focus on cross agency or strategic initiatives.

The successful candidates will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of leadership development and programs and Talent initiatives.
  • Experience in workforce planning, organisational development, and human resources.
  • High level internal and external stakeholder management skills and demonstrated experience in building positive professional relationships.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including content development and copywriting aligned to the Australian Government Style Manual.
  • Project management skills and a demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking in the context of capability or organisational development.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in contemporary learning and development design methodologies, a sound knowledge of adult learning principles and strong face-to-face and virtual facilitation skills.
  • Experience in the procurement and contract management of third-party providers.
  • Most importantly, you will share our values and be energised by undertaking purposeful work in a collaborative, supporting and flexible working environment.

Desirable qualifications:


  • Relevant qualifications in human resource management, organisational development, education or instructional design, business, psychology and/or equivalent professional certifications through the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
