About the Client
Our client is a leading Australia’s disaster and emergency management efforts by providing informed strategic oversight and guidance and ensuring constant connection with local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the Disaster Ready Fund Round Two Assessment phase, including secretariat work to support the assessment panel.
- Provide high quality program management and operational policy advice, including program governance.
- Contribute to grants management processes – including funding agreements, variations to schedules and monitoring and risk assessment.
- Lead and develop communications and briefings to support the Agency executives, the Minister and engagement with stakeholders, through products such as ministerial submission, Question Time and Senate Estimate briefs or media enquiries.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders including Federal and state governments, and as part of a team to deliver the outcomes of the branch.
Skills and Experience
- A background in one or more of the following: public policy analysis or development; program management or coordination; program monitoring and evaluation or research.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and flexibly in a high tempo and high-profile environment, while displaying a high degree of resilience.
- Demonstrated experience in grants management processes including implementation, monitoring, reporting and risk management, or the ability to quickly acquire.
- Sound analytical and strategic thinking skills to drive evidence-based policy and Program solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- An ability to work independently, identify priorities, goals and objectives, and manage risks to deliver consistently high-quality outputs to meet targets and critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in resilience or disaster management would be beneficial but not required.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- To be eligible for employment in this role, you must be able to provide evidence of Australian citizen, be able to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check, and hold, or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
