Your new company:

This government agency works to create new and maintain existing agricultural and environmental export opportunities. They manage biosecurity risks to protect Australia’s agricultural industry.

Your new role:

  • Reviewing, researching, and analysing micro-information related to organic products (e.g., organic conformity arrangements)
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of organic equivalence and conformity systems
  • Liaising with policy and operational areas within the department, as well as certifiers and industry groups
  • Coordinating stakeholder meetings including providing administrative and secretariat support
  • Communicating with foreign governments in both formal and informal settings
  • Preparing policy and market access notifications, conducting data analysis and preparing assessment reports

What you’ll need to succeed:

We work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and, therefore, are looking for people who can deliver high quality work under pressure to meet tight timeframes, manage competing priorities and respond quickly and positively to change.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, an ability to understand and communicate complex policy issues clearly and be able to influence discussions to find win-win solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strong written and verbal communicator who can contribute to, and develop, high level policy advice, while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. They will need to be flexible, resilient, have sound judgement and an ability to work in a team, prioritise tasks and produce high quality work within agreed timeframes. The ability to work and manage a high-pressure environment with competing priorities is also desirable.
