The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
Are you looking for a challenging and exciting change? The Transformation Program Branch is currently seeking to fill an APS6 Program Reporting Finance Officer position, within the Integrity Transformation and Fraud Fusion Taskforce Group. The Group works across the NDIA to collaboratively develop enterprise capabilities that optimise services whilst also ensuring the integrity of the Scheme. The Transformation Program Branch sits under the Integrity Transformation Division and is responsible to support the delivery of the Crack Down on Fraud Program, including coordinating program management, operations, governance and reporting, stakeholder engagement and change management. This job is being offered as either Professional Stream or General Stream. Mandatory Qualifications apply for the Professional Stream:For applications within the professional job stream the successful applicant must possess relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications); together with extensive direct finance experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcome.
Where you can add value
The APS6 Program Reporting Finance Officer will assist with program financial management including transaction scrutiny, initiating journal entries, financial variance analysis and reporting, assisting with New Policy Proposal costings and program budgeting. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, including, but not limited to:
Tracking and managing expenses, billing, and payments, including preparing and processing invoices, receipts, purchase orders.
Assisting with managing vendor relationships and contracts, assessing vendor performance, and ensuring financial compliance.
Assisting with developing external financial reports and dashboards to support rapid, on-demand reporting for program delivery.

Our ideal applicants will have a good understanding of financial governance frameworks and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to financial policies, regulations, and audit guidelines. You will have a keen eye for detail and great written and verbal communication skills, including writing of executive briefs and technical accounting position papers. The successful candidate will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and has highly developed stakeholder engagement skills.We are also looking for candidates with proven experience in finance who have demonstrated expertise in their field. While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC, Richmond - VIC, Penrith - NSW, Brisbane - QLD, Deakin - ACT, Surry Hills - NSW, Adelaide - SA, Darwin - NT or Hobart - TAS, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
