APS6 Senior Events Officer

On behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong, we are looking for an APS6 Senior Events Officer. This is a 12-month assignment. The role will be paying $60.26 per hour plus super.

The Opportunity

As the Senior Events Officer, you will lead a team that manages all aspects of event planning, coordination and execution and will be at the forefront of event planning and organisation, playing a crucial role in shaping agency presence in industry summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and forums.

Responsibilities Include:

• Leads a team who takes charge of event coordination and management.
• Work closely with the stakeholders to understand the event requirements and align event objectives and organisational goals.
• Responsible for developing project plans, monitoring progress, and coordinating with cross functional team to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor event budgets, tracking expenditure and ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately.
• Liaise with venues on event logistics and provide detailed calendar invites for the event.
• Negotiate contracts and manages relationships to secure necessary resources and services.
• Identify potential risks, develops contingency plans, and ensures compliance with relevant policies, regulations and health and safety standards.

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate; 

• Relevant experience in event management, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Budget management experience.
• Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks.
• Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability, high level understanding and knowledge of disability
