Aps6 Senior Project Officer

Our rapidly expanding transport team have several opportunities at the APS6 level, being either temporary or permanent positions, to help delivery Australia's National Electric Vehicle Strategy and design new policies & projects to support and accelerate the uptake of Electric Vehicles!

We are looking for people who are interested in learning about new technologies, analysing data and international trends, and working with a wide range of stakeholders to understand barriers and find solutions that will assist Australia's transition to Electric Vehicles.

We have a very supportive and esteemed government client, with many opportunities to do meaningful work. You will work in a fast-paced environment and the team have significant political, media and public interest in their work. The role will suit you wanting to build your policy/project development, stakeholders engagement and whole of government collaboration skills.

Roles can be flexibly designed to suit the skills and level of successful applicants, but likely duties of the role include, but not limited to:

• Conduct focussed desktop research and analysis (including market and industry analysis) to support timely, evidence-based outcomes, including implementation of the National Electric Vehicle Strategy
• Support ministers and the senior executive with high quality written output (e.g. briefing, correspondence and advice)
• Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders by participating actively in committees and forums, and developing trust with key individuals and organisations
• Manage multiple tasks and the timely completion of projects, including through effective procurement, contract and project management
• Support program delivery, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement

• Experience in briefing and project implementation
• Ability to identify broader factors, trends and influences which may impact outcomes/objectives
• Strong adaptability, initiative, sound judgement and decision-making capabilities, and an eye for detail
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work across many priorities with minimal direction, including under tight deadlines
• Ability to develop and maintain productive, trusted relationships and work collaboratively and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

• An interest and experience in climate change policy, transport decarbonisation and energy markets, or implementation activities.
• Technical / data analysis and/or project management skills and experience.
• Experience interpreting information, manging competing priorities, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.

• This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
