Aquatic and Recreation Officer
The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley is an extraordinarily beautiful and sparsely populated area in the northeast corner of Western Australia (WA), and is known as one of the world's last wilderness frontiers. Wyndham is a small settlement on the East Kimberley coastline. It is a very beautiful spot where locals love the remoteness, the fishing and mud crabbing.
About the position:
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley in the role of the Aquatic and Recreation Officer . This role plays an integral part in the services that the Shire provides to the Kununurra Community and is key to promoting safe participation in aquatic activity at the Kununurra Swimming Pool. You will works as part of the Leisure Centre Team ensuring a high level of Aquatic and other fitness services are provided.
The role assists in the development and implementation of fitness and Recreation programs and provides a high level of customer service whilst ensuring the maintenance of a healthy and safe environment for users and employees at the facility.
This is a fulltime role with a remuneration package (not including penalties) ranging between $86,240 - $89,885.03 (depending on experience) per annum.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated communication and customer service skills;
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to set priorities, plan and organise self in order to effectively undertake and complete multiple tasks as agreed;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer operations and administrative tasks with the ability to follow set processes and procedures (including those that involve cash handling);
- Knowledge and experience in the promotion and programming of recreation and aquatic initiatives;
- Demonstrated physical fitness to enable you to perform appropriately in a rescue or training situation;
- Ability to work as an active team member;
- Ability to drive between Wyndham and Kununurra, at times on a regular basis;
- Knowledge of the use and safe handling of chemicals
