Architecture Lead

Our client is a federal Government Agency.

Based in Canberra or Sydney, the Branch Architecture Lead will develop and execute the technical architecture vision for the current and future products – this is part of a major digital transformation program of work..

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• provide day-to-day management and technical architecture leadership to the branch technical leads supporting different product teams
• quality of architecture artifacts produced by technical leads
• provide technical advice to branch service lead and delivery leads
• work collaboratively with other branch technical lead in ensuring cohesive architectures are produced and implemented between the branches.
• Identify and coordinate technical dependencies between product teams across the branches
• responsible for the technical quality of the digital products and services within the branch

Skills and Experience required to be successful in this role:

• Experience in managing architects and technical leads
• strong conceptual understanding of event driven architecture and domain drive design.
• strong experience in architecting APIs
• strong experience in leveraging Microsoft Azure for development of solutions.
• strong understanding of common patterns for developing maintainable and scalable web applications
• strong understanding of security by design, demonstrated knowledge of common web security issues and how to avoid them.
• strong background working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams in a large-scale digital organisation.

• ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
• excellent communication skills both written and verbal

This role which is a initial contract to the end of June 2023 (with 2 x 12 months extensions), can be based in Sydney or Canberra and in office or WFH arrangements can be discussed.

This role will require Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain baseline clearance.
