The Role
Step into a fulfilling, full-time, permanent role located at our Preston Reservoir office (and other sites as needed). As a valued member of the team reporting to the Manager Water Supply Quality & Process Improvement, this role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimization, improvement, and automation of Drinking Water Treatment processes. Your key responsibilities include:
Provide specialized process engineering support to optimize Water Treatment plants, reducing operating costs, enhancing water quality, and meeting customer and regulatory water quality expectations.
Manage incident response in accordance with Melbourne Water’s incident management processes
Identify and prioritize opportunities, directing resources towards process and plant improvement initiatives
Overseeing the financial model for operational inputs and costs within the Water Supply domain.

Your Skills and Experience
Extensive knowledge of Water Treatment, quality, and transfer systems.
Significant understanding of Safe Drinking Water legislation/regulations and water quality guidelines.
Possess a tertiary degree in chemical engineering or science.
Demonstrate the ability to lead change and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Exhibit high-level communication, relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Display maturity and judgment necessary to contribute to complex decision-making processes.
Be open to being on call once every six weeks, including evenings and weekends
This role qualifies for Melbourne Water vehicle and free parking.
Salary level: Hay Grade 16
