The Role
Reporting to the Service Optimisation & Enablement Manager, this role will lead a high performing team in driving service performance excellence and enabling the safe, effective and efficient delivery of Melbourne Water waterway and catchment obligations, programs and services delivered by Waterway and Catchment Services (WCS) teams. This will be achieved through:
- Coordinating centralised WCS program governance and processes so they are efficient, coordinated, consistent, best practice and integrated.
- Overseeing the maintenance of robust governances, and key enabling frameworks, agreements, processes, systems and operating procedures to effectively manage risk and lead efficient and effective service delivery for the successful achievement of our strategic and operational objectives.
- Driving the 'engine room' of improving Waterways and Catchment Services business processes and systems - using real time data and insights, and collaboration across groups to design, implement and evaluate these initiatives.
- Position WCS processes, systems and governance to be future ready, through identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
- Inspire, lead and develop the capability of a diverse and inclusive team
- Experience in program coordination, governance and ability to effectively manage contracts and program level financial and risk management
- Ability to provide leadership and influence in coordinating the design and drive process, system and operational change initiatives across organisational groups including working through ambiguity and resistance.
- Ability to establish, maintain and improve collaborative working relationships and establish buy-in for program enablement and optimisation projects.
- Experience in leading and motivating team members to delivery complex programs of work on key performance objectives and service outcomes, and supporting and enabling a high performance and inclusive culture.
- Have a curious mindset, with a willingness to learn and to support others build capability good governance and program coordination across the Waterway & Catchment Services group.
- A strategic future thinker with an understanding of the broader Melbourne Water operating environment and future trends
