We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and agile sales professional to join our Foodservice sales team, based at our Melbourne office and responsible for the Melbourne Eastern territory as well as regional South Eastern Victoria.
Reporting into the State Distributor Manager, you will maximise customer relationships for your territory through maintaining and developing the Simplot Foodservice business with end-users, ingredients customers and assigned Key Accounts.
The primary focus of the position is to market products in your area, within budget, to build awareness, manage product trial and engage adoption. The Area Manager is also responsible for developing the catering business by working in conjunction with the marketing development, marketing operations, product management and distributor teams.
This is a 100% field-based role with which includes overnight regional travel on a quarterly basis.
What you will doYour drive for results will ensure you actively:
- Maintain profitable sales and volume by maximising GSV, Tonnes and Contribution by setting clear and concise objectives based on opportunities for high profile/high volume accounts;
- Establish the need by identifying and capitalising on core & potential ranging opportunities;
- Achieve customer relationships by analysing, developing and considering any prospect within the major accounts of your territory. Identify and evaluate new prospects in line with the direct Marketing strategy;
- Customer Service - build and maintain effective, professional relationships and provide excellent customer service to high profile/high volume accounts and distributors / representatives;
- Manage the trial of new products and identify key accounts for the new products;
- Work with internal key stakeholders to execute the strategic marketing plans;
- Actively pursue new end user accounts to increase area/key account potential; and
- Establish administrative processes and procedures to monitor the results of assignments or projects.
- You are experienced managing a portfolio of products in field-based sales.
- Ideally you hold industry experience within Food, FMCG or Foodservice / Catering industry however we are more interested in your ability to ‘sell' and your self-motivation.
- You hold excellent communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Most importantly, you have a strong commercial acumen and be an energetic, enthusiastic and proactive team player.
