Insight Early Learning is on the lookout for a talented, self-motivated, and innovative AREA MANAGER, to work closely with our amazing Centre Directors. The role is based in Melbourne, with regular travel to our services in Burwood, Moama, Dubbo, Canberra, and Darwin.

The Role
In this role, you must show a connection with and willingness to advocate for children and Insight Early Learning's philosophy WISDOM, INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY and EQUITY. You will be a great team player, show initiative and confidence.
You will work directly with Centre Directors, providing support around quality programs ensuring services meet and exceed their obligations under the National Quality Framework. As the Area Manager you will take part in a supportive team and be responsible for a portfolio of 6 (and growing) Early Learning Centres.
A regular day in this role will involve:
- Supporting the Directors and Services to ensure consistent and effective delivery of the company’s educational program, ensuring programs and practices are current and followed.
- Driving team engagement through positive leadership.
- Willingness and availability for interstate travel if required.
- Leading, mentoring and positively developing relationships with families and ensuring that each individual families’ needs are met.
- Overseeing the strategic plan for each of the services and their offerings for the children and families.
- Mentoring Centre Directors and staff to achieve their own professional goals and high levels of performance.
- Providing support and training to the Centre Directors and service employees to ensure the safety, care and welfare of the children and their families.
- Ensuring reports regarding children’s incidents/accidents are reported accurately by the nominated supervisor and overseeing the appropriate response to serious incidents and compliance, including management of investigations.
- Setting a high expectation to ensure the service is of a high standard of presentation and hygiene making the environment is welcoming, loving and provides children the opportunity to experience both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Overseeing the financial aspects.
- Ensuring that staffing rosters are meeting the correct child to educator ratio which will include workforce planning and approving new vacancies and position types.
- Liaising closely with the Approved Provider regarding the general operation of each service.
- Ensuring the occupancy of each service is optimised and always maintained.
Our ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience in a similar role or in a service-based role overseeing a large team.
- Bachelor or Diploma of Early Childhood and / or other qualification in education, management, business field, etc.
- Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and supporting early childhood education and care services/programs to deliver high quality outcomes, and in building a capable and engaged workforce.
- Demonstrated ability to work remotely, independently and in a position involving travel.
- Experience with multi-site leadership.
- Solid understanding of mandatory reporting, EYLF & NQF along with other related legislation.
- Experience with Assessment and Rating.
- Financial experience in managing budgets.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to take ownership and be proactive.
- Good understanding of QikKids, OWNA, CCMS programs and a proven track record in the management of budgets, rosters and policies.
- Previous experience using Xplor (or similar) would be advantageous but not essential
- Ability to travel interstate (required).
- Current and valid Working with Children Check
