The School

The role
The Arts at Pembroke provides a variety of opportunities for students to discover a rich creative life. Focus is placed on enjoyment of new experiences, exploration of artistic processes and development of specific skills, with emphasis on both broad participation and a high degree of artistic excellence.
We are seeking a creative and engaging Art Teacher to fill a replacement fixed term contract on a part time (0.55 FTE) basis for Terms 2 - 4, 2024. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with a well-established and engaging teaching program and a helpful and encouraging team.
What the role will involve
The successful candidate will be working with Visual Art students across the Middle and Senior Schools (Years 7-12) and is responsible for collaboratively designing stimulating learning experiences that inspire engagement and curiosity and provide a rich learning experience for our students.
What we are looking for
The successful applicant will have a passion for teaching Art and will be friendly, approachable and able to relate well to students and parents. They will be proficient in a range of mediums including Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculptural and Digital Media and will possess an in-depth knowledge of contemporary Visual Arts theory and practice. The successful applicant will be a collaborative and self-driven learner with energy, enthusiasm and qualifications in secondary teaching. Experience teaching Year 11 SACE/IB (hybrid) will be advantageous.
