Position Overview
As the Arts and Culture Officer, you will play a pivotal role in planning and executing a diverse range of exhibitions, events, and projects within Kyogle's Cultural Precinct, including the esteemed Roxy Gallery. Your work will contribute to the cultural vibrancy of our community while engaging with local artists, stakeholders, and residents to foster a thriving arts scene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an annual program of exhibitions and events at the Roxy Gallery, including after-hours events, artist talks, and symposia.
- Coordinate activities within Council's Cultural Precinct, overseeing venue and site hire for various events.
- Drive creative Arts and cultural development projects, collaborating with industry and community stakeholders to support diverse art forms and participants.
- Cultivate marketing strategies to promote events, encourage participation, and maximise audience engagement.
- Manage grant applications and administration to secure funding for Arts and cultural initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong networks with key stakeholders, including artists, organisations, funding bodies, and community groups.
- Contribute to fostering a team culture that values performance, continuous improvement, and adherence to public sector values.

Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Visual Arts, Arts Administration, Museum Studies, Events Management, or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering Arts and cultural events or projects.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in marketing and promotion within the arts sector.
- Familiarity with grant application processes and grant management.
- Previous experience working in local government or community development settings.
