Overview
The Senior Administrative Officer Emergency Department is accountable to the Administration Supervisor and responsible of timely administrative and support services to the Mount Barker Emergency Department including the leadership, supervision, monitoring and allocation of work to the Emergency Department Administration team through:
- Maintaining the overall administrative function of the Emergency Department
- Maximising operational effectiveness and utilisation while maintaining seamless working relationships with all stakeholders in accordance with SA Health directive
- Monitoring, developing and maintaining reporting to provide strategic planning for the future and present solutions due to unforeseen circumstances, continual growth and change management.
- Is a middle management role which assists administrative staff in the operations of the Emergency Department through the Administration Supervisor. The incumbent will be the primary contact for clerical personnel in regard to technical support and management of the Emergency Department in response to business practice in a high-volume department.
- Responsible for a nominated portfolio of staff, as agreed with the Administration Supervisor, providing leadership, training and support to staff within the nominated area.
- The incumbent will possess sound, confidential communication skills both written and verbal including appropriate telephone etiquette and the ability to work effective in a multidisciplinary team enable liaison with key stakeholders, particularly medical and nursing/midwifery staff.
