The Auditor-General’s Department are a trusted and independent body that ensure government accountability, whilst influencing stronger performance outcomes for the public sector in South Australia. The department have 120+ employees split across three branches: Financial Audit, Performance Audit and the Business Services Branch. Information & Communication Technology (ICT) is a small team within the Data and Technology Directorate (Business Services Branch), that provides comprehensive independent ICT services and support to enable the Department to deliver its statutory audit mandate and responsibilities.
Your new role
Working as the Senior ICT Technical Officer, you will plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and carry out maintenance and enhancement projects to deliver secure ICT infrastructure and services. You will manage all systems, servers, network, and applications while performing necessary upgrades and continuously improving the ICT environment. You will contribute to the design and implementation of practical ICT security controls, as a part of the Department’s ICT framework, using tools like Group Policy, firewall rules, vulnerability scanning and Microsoft 365 security applications.
You will also manage on-premises infrastructure, including designing, procuring, implementing, and helping with contract management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience with M365, Windows network environment and cloud infrastructure and services
- Experience across systems, servers, virtualisation, network, cloud, and security
- Experience in implementing ICT Projects across infrastructure and applications
- Exposure to ICT security controls for group policy, firewall rules, vulnerability scanning and M365 security
- Exposure to the South Australian Cyber Security Framework and/or Essential 8 framework
- Strong technical abilities with a willingness and ability to learn new technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Australia citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
Salary
ASO5: $84,522 - 94,003 + superannuation
