About the Opportunity
The Assessments Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate assessment of discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation complaints under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA). They will use research and analytical skills to make recommendations to the Commissioner about complaints of discrimination made to Equal Opportunity SA, as well as undertake work in a broad range of administrative and customer service functions.
Working closely with the Conciliation Officer, Commissioner and other staff, the Assessments Officer contributes to the elimination of discrimination by ensuring that South Australians understand their legal rights and how to exercise them.

Equal Opportunity SA staff support the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity, who is independent of government, to discharge her functions under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
