Role:
  
This role has high customer involvement and impact from an operational perspective. You will be working particularly closely with our customers and internal teams to ensure both (a) the integrity of the configuration management database (CMDB), and (b) configuration items (CIs)/assets in the managed IT environments are identified, classified, recorded, tracked, audited and reported on, across their respective lifecycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of Configuration Management and Asset Management plans, processes and procedures. Support integration with the customer, internal and supplier processes and systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Configuration Data Model (CDM) and corresponding Configuration Items.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of training and supporting materials to new and existing staff, customers and suppliers.
  • Support the development and reporting of metrics and KPIs for process performance and CMDB and Asset Register accuracy & health.
  • Actively promote the goals and objectives of the Configuration Management and Asset Management processes and the essential roles of the CMDB and Asset Register.
  • Process approved updates to the Asset Register for hardware & software assets, and key documentation (contracts, licenses, etc).
  • Attend relevant customer, internal and supplier meetings and forums; participate as subject matter expert, chair, proxy, and minute-taker, or other roles as required.
  
Skills & experience 
  • 2+ years’ experience, in ITIL Configuration Management/Asset Management Administration within complex, medium or large IT environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer-service, continual improvement, and ethical business practices.
  • Office Productivity: Microsoft, etc – MS Office, Email, Messaging, SharePoint
  • Ticketing and Job Systems: ServiceNow – job queue management and job processing, practising good ticket hygiene
  • CMDBs: ServiceNow CMDBs
  • Data: Data-intensive gathering, analysis, report and insights generation (Excel, Access, other)
