About Goonyella
Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA's Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland's largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah.
BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
Job description:
We are currently seeking a permanent full time Asset Engineer to join our Goonyella team on an 8/6 roster.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for providing technical support in the ongoing improvement of fleet operations through the use of innovative reliability, condition monitoring and asset technology techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement reliability and condition monitoring methodologies to achieve reliability excellence for mobile assets.
Identify any maintenance projects that will be beneficial to both asset health and reliability, and justify through suitable cost/benefit analysis.
Review equipment failure modes and utilise engineering expertise to develop practical maintenance strategies to mitigate the consequence of equipment failures.
Use life cycle costing to support financial decision-making including end-of-life repair vs replace decisions or selection of new assets.
Mentor and develop graduate engineers and trades people in equipment condition monitoring and reliability techniques, with a strong focus on improving inspection and work quality.
Promote and support BUMA's values of safety, integrity, progress, collaboration and people.
Profile description:
As an Asset Engineer your role at BUMA will be built upon four main pillars:

As such the ideal candidate would have a combination of the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Engineering stream (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics etc). Maintenance trades background will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Demonstrated experience in maintenance related roles. Experience with mobile assets necessary.
Maintenance planning experience or on-site mining experience in an operational maintenance role desirable.
Asset health and condition-based maintenance experience.
Analytical capability, with knowledge of fundamental reliability analysis techniques including RCA, FMEA and Predictive Maintenance tools.
Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, SAP (preferable), and project management tools.
Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour.
