About the role:
Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Planning Leader, this position is responsible for strategically planning and scheduling long term maintenance. We are looking for a motivated and highly organised person to develop and assemble long term maintenance plans into structured buckets of work. Working within Aurizon’s Asset Systems and Planning Team, the Asset Maintenance Planner will be responsible for a time horizon of +6mths, focusing on assembling preventative work into relevant groupings from the maintenance signals for handover to the execution Business Units.
In this position, you will have a strong focus on supporting the organisation with material availability and pool sizing by providing analysis, advice, coaching, and support to leaders and employees on material supply matters and budget requirements. Candidates will have experience in executing planning activities with consideration of fleet availability and distribution, depot and resource capacity, budget requirements and material availability to ensure they are available for execution on the day.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Provide an inventory demand plan and material pools requirements that supports maintenance strategy.
- Develop short to medium term maintenance & demand plans that comply with Maintenance obligations whilst supporting the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and teams to achieve business objectives.
- Manage all work input and output in work tracking systems, ensuring accuracy.
- Coordinating regular meetings with relevant stakeholders to review actual works against program and clarify upcoming works.
To be considered for this position, we are looking for candidates with:
- A relevant trade background with experience in rail operations OR proven track record working in heavy or complex industry in a similar position.
- Substantial knowledge and experience utilising computer applications including Maintenance Management systems (SAP (PM and MM)) and Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel) (mandatory)
- A comprehensive understanding of maintenance practices and procedures, with the ability to provide reasoning for completion.
- High level of skill in the development of work programs, identifying scope of works, resource and material requirements, and the identification and setting of agreed targets.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and competing timelines.
- High level of conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills that are supported by sound commercial acumen.
