About your role

As the Asset Management Engineer - Civil/Structural, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating technical support, advice, and solutions within the plant, specialising in but not limited to, the field of civil and structural engineering.

 You will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

  • Providing technical civil / structural engineering support to operations and project teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Ensuring operational assets are compliant with the plant engineering and inspection standards
  • Managing the plant civil / structural asset integrity registers and inspection status documents
  • Providing technical input on structural infrastructure maintenance strategies as well as planned growth and optimisation projects to ensure business capability is met
  • Conducting asset Integrity inspections, assessments, prioritization, remediation planning & execution to relevant QAL standards and to best industry practices
  • Coordinating civil structural engineering services by relevant external service provider specialists
  • Ensuring governance of civil and structural infrastructure assets at QAL including but not limited to the materials handling infrastructure, wharf, process & office buildings, major pipe racks, stacks, roads, bridges, support infrastructure for storage bins; silos; and mechanical equipment or moving plant, drainage & retaining structures, ponds, dams and bunds
  • Ensuring engineering solutions are promptly identified to resolve asset integrity specific issues to reduce all possible unplanned safety and business impacts
  • Actively participating and implementing improvement, risk reduction and cost saving initiatives for all assigned tasks keeping safety in mind at all times
  • Maintaining currency of engineering & inspection standards
  • Participating in site asset audits, HAZOPs and risk assessment related activities

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills within the structural engineering discipline within a heavy industry primarily bulk materials handling would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with high level formal problem solving experience
  • An eye for detail and the ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Currently holding (or eligible for) RPEQ / CPEng registration is desirable
