Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is dedicated to ensuring the safety, effectiveness, availability, and compliance of biomedical technology used directly for patient diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring in public hospitals and healthcare facilities. As part of this commitment, we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Asset Planning and Procurement Officer for Biomedical Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the professional and specialist forecasting, prioritising and allocation of funds for the acquisition of new biomedical engineering devices and systems, and medical equipment, to support the achievement of maximised cost efficiency and service delivery.
• Managing procurement and replacement services, providing expert advice, assistance, and guidance for biomedical devices and systems.
• Provide professional expertise to coordinate the development of forward procurement plans for the replacement of biomedical engineering devices across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, to support ongoing service improvement outcomes for patients as part of the SA BME led statewide program.
• Contribute professional expertise to the development and implementation of merit based processes for the approval and acquisition of requested new biomedical engineering devices and systems, to support the needs of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
• Conduct professional and expert research and developing recommendations to support planning for the on-going annual replacement program.
• Conduct professional consultations with relevant staff across a range of sites, to support and inform the prioritisation of complex procurement processes for new biomedical engineering devices and systems across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
• Contributing to the formulation of acquisition plans, tender assessments, and recommendations, ensuring quality outcomes for procurement processes.
• Playing a key role in developing new approaches, methodologies, and techniques to advance biomedical engineering services and enhance client and diagnostic outcomes

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills across a multi-disciplinary environment including the capacity to undertake effective liaison and communication with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively under limited direction, either independently or in a team, and to analyse complex information, meet deadlines and work under pressure, and effectively use work related resources and information.
• Sound experience in providing analysis and expertise to resolve operational issues for complex medical equipment and systems.
• Sound experience and knowledge of the SA Government procurement frameworks.

A degree-level qualification in Biomedical Engineering or a related field is essential to be classified as a Professional Officer Level 2 (PO2). Please see the attached Role Descriptions for additional information.
